Buffalo Wings Baby!

I made some awesome buffalo wings tonight. We didn't really use a recipe for this dinner. I browsed the internet for buffalo wing recipes and then picked methods I liked from each and then threw it all together. ;)

I made 26 wings with this recipe.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Pat dry the wing sections. Put the wing sections in a bowl and drizzle in 1 TBLSP of vegetable oil. Coat evenly.
Mix 1 TSP salt, 1 TSP garlic powder and 3/4 C flour in a large resealable bag and add chicken sections.
Mix well. Shake off excess flour and place on a baking sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes. Flip the wings over and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until done.

In a small saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter. Add in 1 TSP of minced garlic. Cook until fragrant. Add in 1 TSP of salt and 5 oz of hot sauce. Place cooked chicken wings in a bowl or plastic container, add in the butter mixture, coat well.

That's all. My wings were crispy but still tender and juicy. Delish.

Did I forget something?

What a way to start off the New Year. I caught someone's germs on Christmas Eve and was sick all last week. I started to feel better around the 2nd and B hadn't complained of any of the normal pre sickness symptoms so we thought he wasn't going to get it too!!! YIPEEEE!!! Then comes Sunday. Our last Raiders tailgate of the season. :( It was cold and windy and B didn't wear a jacket and I guess that is when he let the germies multiply and take over!

So I decided to make him some homemade chicken noodle soup. I was feeling 100% back to normal so I decided to take a walk to the grocery store. Got all the necessary ingredients.....carrots, white onion, celery, low sodium chicken broth, can of cream of chicken soup and pasta shells (as requested). Took frozen chicken out of the freezer that morning and put it in the fridge so it could defrost.

I came home and got the mise en place together. Chopped all the veggies, put the broth on a low simmer. Placed the onions in a pan to sweat them, added the celery and carrots, cooked until onions became translucent. Added veggies to the broth. Put the shells in boiling water. Combined all ingredients once the shells were done. Served it to B. He came back for seconds and then asked me if the soup had chicken in it!! OF COURSE IT DID.....NOT! Total brain fart. So I guess I made veggie soup with shell pasta. Not an epic fail but just as embarrassing.

Let's begin....

It seems that in this day and digital age you cannot open the newspaper, turn on the TV or browse the internet without bumping into someone's blog. Everyone has something they want to share with the world and I am no different. I have been a foodie for quite some time now and have been sharing my home cooked meals with friends on Facebook for the past year. I have received a lot of good feedback from my pictures and it has evolved into me wanting to be able to share more than just the finished product. So this is where I begin.....

Through this blog I will share all of the food adventures that take place in my very own kitchen.

My plan is:

to use the internet, cookbooks, friend recommendations and magazines to find a recipe that looks appealing

share the recipe with all of you

document the cooking process with pictures

feed the dish to my husband and any guests we may have

then give the recipe a 1 to 5 star review.

Are you ready to begin the journey? Where is will take us no one knows but I assure you it will be an fun adventure! And away we go.......

Please take a moment to "follow" me using the thing on the right hand side of the page. :)
